BATH RHYTHMFEST 2009, THE ULTIMATE DRUMMER’S HOLIDAY

Bath Spa University once again plays host to the Rhythmfest (formerly the Bath Rhythm Course) between the 1st and 8th of August 2009. This year sees daily masterclasses from Stanton Moore, Derrick McKenzie, Jerry Brown and several other world-class players. A full programme of tuition and workshops will also run throughout the week led by Colin Woolway, Craig Blundell, Pete Riley and James Hester.

The event, now in its 9th year, is an unparalleled opportunity for drummers of all ages and abilities to learn from some of the industry’s top artists and teachers in a fun and supportive environment. The lessons and workshops will cover topics such as technique, legendary drummers, basics, recording and groove playing.

“I’ve been involved with the Rhythm course for a few years now, and I’m particularly excited about 2009. We have a stellar lineup of both artists and teachers, and I’m confident that everyone attending will have the time of their lives and come away a better player”
Martyn James, Rhythmfest Technical Director

“I’m really looking forward to my 2nd visit to the Bath Rhythmfest. The atmosphere, friendliness and simple joy of being immersed in drums & drumming for a week is just amazing.”
Stanton Moore, Artist

Amazingly we’ve managed to keep the prices the same as last year!

Cost for the full course is £336, with accommodation coming in from £265 for 7 nights half board.

There is, however, no option for a 3-day course this time around.

OK, so I realise that I’m probably mostly talking to myself here but I need to start thinking about next year’s course now. I have some ideas for artists, but if anyone is actually reading this, please feel free to suggest artists you’d like to see.
